Nestled just off the main road of Alexandria at 472-474 Gardeners Road, the Alexandria store of Bourke Street Bakery has been a significant milestone in our journey. Established in 2006, this location was our third chapter, following the original Surry Hills site, celebrated for its pastries, and a subsequently closed site at Broadway, which primarily focused on bread.

The opening of the Alexandria store came at a time of surging demand, becoming a catalyst for our expansion not only in terms of physical space but also in the growth of our baking volume. This site was unique right from its inception. Continuing the tradition from earlier locations, we made a conscious decision to integrate the production area with the shop out front. This layout allowed our staff to feel connected to the bustling café life, ensuring they remained an integral part of the daily interactions and experiences of our customers, rather than isolated in a back-room production facility.
