Six Pack of Bourke Street Bakery Frozen Fruit Mince Pies
We’re thrilled to introduce a delicious new offering this year at our bakery: frozen fruit mince pies! For the first time, you can now enjoy our beloved fruit mince pies unbaked and straight from your freezer. This means you can bake them fresh at home whenever you fancy.
To get the perfect bake, just follow the instructions included on the packet. We recommend baking them at 140 to 150 degrees Celsius for about 25 to 40 minutes, depending on your oven. I prefer using the fan force setting, but they turn out just as well without it. Just remember, if you’re not using fan force, you might want to increase the temperature slightly, by about 5 degrees. This low and slow method ensures they bake evenly, avoiding the higher temperatures you might use for other pies or roasts.
After they come out of the oven, a simple trick to make them extra special is to lightly brush the tops with a bit of water and then sprinkle them with caster sugar. This step is entirely optional but adds a delightful crunch.
After baking, let them cool for about ten minutes to achieve that perfect golden colour and flaky texture. They might be fragile, but that’s the beauty of pastry—it should be handled with care and savoured with joy.
And, for the ultimate treat, top them off with some brandy butter right before serving. Just a little dollop will do—press it gently into the warm pie, and enjoy a moment of pure, buttery bliss.
There you have it—our frozen fruit mince pies, ready for you to bake and enjoy at home. Perfect for sharing… or not. Cheers to a delicious, pastry-filled season!
